Frequently Asked Questions
What happens at a NeurOptimal session?
You will sit in a comfortable chair. The sensors will be placed on your scalp and ears. Ear buds are placed in the ears so you can easily hear the music. Once the training begins, you are welcome to close your eyes and rest or watch random visualizations on a monitor if you wish. The session lasts 33 minutes.
What medical conditions does neurofeedback treat?
MindPeace is not a medical facility. We do not treat, heal, cure or diagnosis medical conditions. We are a technology company whose goal is to optimize brain efficiency through training the central nervous system.
What do Medical Professionals say about NeurOptimal?
The American Pediatric Academy lists neurofeedback as Best Support treatment for children with ADHD. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved neurofeedback for relaxation training.
How many sessions will I need?
Most clients begin to see some changes at 5-6 sessions. It is recommended to start with 10 sessions performed once or twice per week. Some people complete their training, happy that they got what they came for, after just a handful of sessions. Some people continue training because they are curious to see what changes would happen next. In our experience, if your challenges are a recent occurrence in your life, you'll likely feel complete after 8-10 sessions. If there are multiple conditions that began some years ago, you may want to consider 10-20 sessions. The more sessions you have, the more comprehensive the results.
How does it work?
NeuroOptimal's special real-time feedback mechanism monitors your brain waves, then provides "feedback" to the central nervous system. When the software detects a tremor in your brainwave pattern, it sends a audible message to your brain and cues it to self correct. This would be similar to someone with poor posture looking in a mirror. They would instantly pull their shoulders back and straighten their spine. We are wired for balance and efficiency and NeurOptimal utilizes our intrinsic, natural self-regulation capacities.
How is NeurOptimal different than other neurofeedback systems?
NeurOptimal supports the brain to re-correct itself on its own. Other traditional neurofeedback systems force brainwaves into new and prescribed patterns.
How much is a session?
The first visit is $50. This allows you to ask any questions and discover the benefits for yourself. After that, a single session is $90.
How do I schedule a session?
